A blog to show the world about the gay community. So many people fear, and hate, and judge what they do not understand. This first step towards a better world is education. We need to show the world what a fabulous part of society gay people are, that gay people are just as "normal" as straight people.
This is the blog's purpose.

Coming Out Allied Project (COAP)

iamthemagicks:

The Coming Out Allied Project (informally known as COAP, pronounced “cope”) is a fresh way to connect those who are ready to come out of the closet, or who are already out of the closet and going through the transition, with allies who will walk with them through their journey.

These allies will offer support, encouragement, and ultimately, a community. One of the biggest obstacles for those who come out of the closet is that they go through a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance, while simultaneously experiencing the reactions from those around them.

In many areas, these reactions are typically negative, leaving that person feeling lonely in their journey. This is something that the COAP wants to change. Our goal is to pair those who contact us with an ally. Through that partnership, they will be able to find their voice, so that the reactions from others do not directly affect their sense of self. We also want to create an encouraging and supportive group environment for everyone who reaches out to us.

Started by my friend, Adam. If you’re guys are interested, or know anyone who could be helped by this, or if you want to help, please check it out. Adam is a great guy and he cares so much about this cause.

LGBTQ* Phrases To Reevaluate
It’s marriage. Not a “gay” marriage.

Personal Note from Rebecca of KNOWhomo:
Please note that the moderators at KNOWhomo understand the difference of struggles between PoC and the queer community. We are not looping them into the same oppression, nor do we feel they should be used in comparison in argumentative dialogue. This graphic is being shared in order to showcase how we currently use language within the United States and how it can be oppressive (even when used to describe changing laws and equality).
